About Ghostpistols

We’re highly excitable makers of things.

We exist to help you connect with your audience, wherever they are - that may be through film, an experience, Twitch stunt, or a vending machine that moonwalks with every purchase.

We’re ambitious, experimental and humble. We don’t know everything, which is a good thing because that would be incredibly boring. What we do know is the value of creativity, and that we’re excited for the future, because culture will evolve, media will fragment, but a good idea will always be invaluable. And that's what we're about.

About the agency founders

Ghostpistols is led by Damian Fitzgerald & Matt Heck.

The Brit and American met when they were partnered at content-creation company Three Drunk Monkeys (Sydney) and created multiple award-winning campaigns across a range of brands.
Damian then became Senior Creative/Creative Director at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners (San Francisco), Brooklyn Brothers (London) and Wieden & Kennedy (Portland).

Matt went on to Europe to help 72&Sunny (Amsterdam) establish their European office and became Creative Director across a range of global brands.

In 2018, they quit their positions at W+K and 72&Sunny, and under a glorious Santa Monica sunrise they -plus a lawyer and tax specialist- ran towards each other in dramatic slow-motion, embraced and formed Ghostpistols.

Why Ghostpistols?

Back in 2008, Damian brought up the subject of ‘Ghostbusters’ and Matt replied that he hadn’t seen it.

After a short, furious debate that probably involved exclamations like 'You haven’t seen one of the seminal movies of the 80’s?' and 'What kind of a monster are you?' it turned out that Matt thought Damian had said Ghostpistols.

Ghostpistols.

They laughed hard at this. What kind of a movie would Ghostpistols be? Who would star in it? Rick Moranis obviously, but who else?
Before long, Ghostpistols had become a running joke.

'That sushi was good, but it wasn’t as good as Ghostpistols.'

'Wait, didn't that actor play the levitating fisherman in Ghostpistols?’

'I had a chilled weekend thanks... I did a bit of housework and watched Ghostpistols.’

So, when it came time to head out on their own, they considered many good, solid options, but there was only one name they were going to call Ghostpistols, and that's Ghostpistols.
